Hiring Ain’t Pretty: Best Practices

This talk will provide advice on best practices for talent acquisition including how to identify the (complimentary) skill sets needed, how to write a job description, ways to identify talent and tips to increase brand awareness among “relevant” talent demographics. The role that job boards, LinkedIn, networking, and recruiters play in hiring will be discussed along with information about salaries. Additionally, information that should be contained in a job offer will be covered along with how this should be communicated (documented). Ample time will be allocated for Q&A to address specific questions from the audience.

Propel works with current leaders and actively cultivates future leaders through full time placement, internships, mentoring, career coaching, and networking. Propel Careers is engaged across all areas of life sciences, including therapeutics, medical devices, healthcare IT, diagnostics, consulting, venture capital, and investment banking. She has a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Gettysburg College and an MBA with a focus in the health sector and entrepreneurship from Boston University. Lauren is on the Board of MassBioEd, the Advisory Board of the Boston University School of Public Health Pharmaceuticals Program, and the Advisory board for Endicott College Boston. She also serves on the programming committee of the Capital Network.
