The upcoming InnoVentures® University program for August will be centered on Google Apps and how you can use it in your company. The session will be taking place on Thursday August 16th beginning at 8 AM and will differ from the normal format as the conference room at 100 Cummings Center is only available to us until 9:30 AM. We hope to get started with the presentation at about 8:15 and go through about 9 AM. This will allow some of the normal networking time following the presentation before we need to vacate the room. The topic is part of a broader subject of “IT on a Shoestring” on which future InnoVentures U programs will be able to expand.
The presenter will be NSIV’s own Eric Groft – also the founder and President of Groft Consulting. Groft Consulting is an Information Technology consultancy specializing in aiding small businesses and non-profit organizations implement cost-effective IT solutions. Eric has personally planned, installed and trained teams to use each of the versions of Google Apps for a variety of organizations.
Due to the shortened program time the presentation will maintain a focus on Google Apps, but some alternatives will also be discussed. The presentation will cover:
- Quick demonstrations of the Google Apps components
- Documents
- Calendar
- Contacts
- Web Conferencing
- Breakdown of the various packages offered by Google
- Individual Use
- Free version – Google Apps for Business
- Google Apps for Business / Google Apps for Non-profits
- Some Alternative Products
- Microsoft 365
- iCloud
- Skype
- Dropbox
We hope you will be able to attend. It is our goal to make the session as informative and valuable as possible. If you have specific questions regarding Google Apps or competing products, please feel free to email Eric at GroftEW[at]GroftConsulting.com with your questions and he will be sure to include it in the program.
