Grantsmanship 201: Think Like a Reviewer
Thursday, January 15, 2015, 12 Noon – 2:00PM
100 Cummings Center, Beverly; Conference Room 221-E
This novel program will give fresh insight into the grants application process through the lens of an NIH Grant Review Panel. Although specific for SBIRs, the lessons learned can be applied to any competitive, peer-reviewed grant application. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn a more strategic approach to grantsmanship, which will save time, effort, and increase your chances for success.
Program Format:
- 60-minute “Improv Study Section Panel” featuring a reenactment of an SBIR Review panel with panelists and moderator.
- Three sample proposals will be featured, illustrating and explaining the most common issues and errors discussed in a “typical session.”
- Ample time between and after the Review Session for comments from the audience and one- on-one interactions with the panel members.
Panelists:
We have assembled a group of seasoned scientists with extensive experience in writing and reviewing grant proposals not only for the NIH SBIR program but also for other competitive federal and state grant application initiatives.

Dr. Donald Kirsch, Biopharma Consultant
